European Weta 2012

The European Weta for 2012 is finished! It was a great regatta, well run by Carnac Yacht Club and the French Weta Class Association, a big thank you to all the volunteers and helpers!
Chris Kitchen came from New Zealand to partcipate and took out the regatta with a near perfect scoreline, dropping a 4th, Franck yves Escoffier was second and the mother daughter team of Petra and Nicole Landgraf were 3rd. The results are handicap and the singles give the doubles time.

Weta Racer Chaser Weekend

Hi Everyone,
You'd think being marketing co-ordinator for Weta Trimarans, I'd sail them a bit, but I have been so busy with Laser Radial racing that this weekend was only my second time out and my only time out in a big blow.

Seems like spring sailing is upon us as the traditional San Francisco winds have started to fill in, delivering the beginning of the sailing season. There’s no better way to enjoy the weekend than to join a bunch of like minded small boat sailors for racing on the San Francisco city front.

Weta at the RYC demo day

Richmond Yacht Clubs annual Sail a Small Boat Day (demo day) was held on March 3 with incredibly clear skies, warm weather and light winds. There were about 100 participants who got to try all sorts of small boats from Bic Open, El Toro, Ultimate 20, Weta Trimaran, Windrider, standup paddleboards, etc. If success can be measured by how many free hotdogs were given to participants I think that 300 dogs is a mark of success.

Old Tri New Tri

This is a pic of a current Weta owners 18’ trimaran from quite a few years ago. It was a trailerable design where the beams hinged and folded upwards with the amas resting on small supports near centerline. It was a scaled down version of a 22’ 234 SA that the owners father designed and built. Bothvery fast boats.
